Ciobanescul scotian este recunoscut drept cea mai frumoasa rasa de caini, datorita, blanii frumoase, si datorita coamei elegande de la gat.

CAPITOLUL I
Culoare:tricolor(alb, negru, roscat), bicolora gold-sable(alb, roscat)si blue-merle(pete negre pe fond gri-albastrui) si alb complet

Talie: 56-61 la masculi si la femele 51-56
Greutate: 25-28 kg

Urechile mici, prinse in sus, purtate erect pana in treimea superioara, varfurile ascutite atarnand spre in fata, prezinte semne particulare ale rasei.
Urechile complet ridicate constituie un defect grav, dand capului un aspect strain.Nici urechile blege nu sunt obisnuite. Observatiile l;a forma urechilor pot parea exagerate, dar la aceasta specie, pe langa aspectul estetic , forma urechilor are un rol practic deosebitdeoarece au posibilitatea de a o folosi in functie de sursa sonora, cainele receptand astfel luieratul pastorului sau chiar si de la cativa km.
